Awards Programs


EST is offering two incentive programs in 2019 designed to support public awareness, visibility, education, and boost marketing efforts for purebred EST breeds.

- Caspian Continental Incentive 2019

- Rare-Steeds™ Virginia-Bred Incentive 2019


GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT EITHER PROGRAM:

1) PUREBREDS ONLY - All Applicant horses must be EST purebred breeds listed on the EST Equine Conservation List. Study breeds are eligible; neither program includes part-breds.

2) APPLICATION FEE & DEADLINE - 2019 Sign-Up fees are only $10 per horse by check or $12 by PayPal for either program. Application / Sign-Ups begin May 1st and are open until July 1st, 2019

3) TABULATING POINTS - Approved applicants are responsible for completing and submitting to EST the REQUEST to RECORD form for every occurrence for each horse competing and/or on public exhibition to enable EST to compile the point data. Applicants are encouraged to send in RECORD forms shortly after the event; no form can be received and counted after October 31, 2019 for the 2019 incentive programs.

4) PHOTOS - At least TWO PHOTOS for EST usage, taken of the horse at the event, must be included. These can be posed in front of the event sign, in the ring with the judge or during the class/exhibition, or posed on site.

5) TWO INCENTIVE CATEGORIES - EST's incentive programs are divided into:
        I. Competitions - Any type or size competition, rated or unrated, fun or schooling shows, etc.
        II. Exhibitions / Public Events - Anything goes as long as it is public and your breed is promoted as an EST rare breed - fairs,         festivals, parades, open house, trade shows, demonstrations, clinics, etc.

6) INCENTIVE POINT SYSTEM - Points earned are based upon the estimated size of the event attendance/participation, not the # of entries or exhibitors. The purpose of our incentive program is expose EST rare breeds to as much of the public as possible.

7) The 2019 programs run Jan1st through October 31st. Both programs are retroactive to January 1st, 2019 to include any events or competitions for participating applicants as long as the horse's application is approved by July 1st, 2019 and proper Requests to Record and photos are received.

8) Awards for 2019 will be announced in December and mailed no later than the first quarter of 2020.

9) Both programs will award rosettes & certificates to winners. The VA-Bred Program will also award $2,400 in Cash prizes.

2019 Caspian Continental Program

This continentally based incentive program supports the critically endangered Caspian Horse. Purebred Caspians in Canada, the USA, and Mexico that trace to the original stud ISCB pre-2016 and more specifically to foundation stock approved by Louise Firouz are eligible.

Caspians registered with the following registries prior to 2016 must supply e-copies of registration papers OR a copy of a satisfactory DNA parentage test. Caspians registered after 2016 need only provide an e-copy of a satisfactory DNA parentage test.

        - Caspian Horse Society of the Americas (CHSA)
        - Caspian Registry Services (CRS)
        - North American Caspian Society (NACS)

Caspians not yet registered may compete if they supply a copy of a satisfactory DNA parentage report AND complete an Eligibility form.

2019 Virginia-Bred Program

This Virginia based incentive program supports EST endangered equine breeds BORN in Virginia and competing or exhibiting to the public in Virginia. Horses and/or owners do not have to live in Virginia. Horses could be conceived anywhere. Participating horses must be registered purebreds or eligible to be registered as purebreds. Horses not yet registered must complete an Eligibility form AND certain breeds may be required to submit a copy of a satisfactory DNA parentage report.
